Top Law Entrance Exams in India

Since,  you have decided that you want to pursue law as career ahead, firstly, I want to congratulate you. Law is full of opportunities, challenges and new avenues. Your law school is an important determinant of your success in law, so hey you better wise while choosing the law school for yourself.

The list of important law entrance exams are as follows:

  • CLAT (Common law admission test) is one of the most important or default exam that you must give. It helps you enrolling into the top best law schools in India, called NLUs or National Law Universities. They are the most sort after institutes for law. They can be considered as IITs of law. They are quite expensive but give great great placements where the package can go up to 8 lakhs. There is huge competition simply because it’s the best. It is an elite examination and is in online mode.
  • Jamia Milia Islamia law entrance exam is of Jamia Milia Islamia , New Delhi. Beginning withe the fees as this might come as a surprise you, for B.A LLB the fees is 10,000 p.a., yes  you read is right. Now you might question the quality of studies so let me tell you it came 8 in the nirf law schools rankings. Jamia law have a great alumni. The campus is deccent. If you are still having doubts regarding the environment let me assure you, there is no discrimination amongst students on the basis of religion.
  • IPU CET is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University. Great varsity, deccent placements, situated in New Delhi. There are ample number of seats. There are colleges of repute like Amity Law School. There is no maths so yay for maths phobics.
  • Symbiosis Law Admission Test SLAT is another good option and it too offer great placements, great environment, great faculty. Fees might be high. Symbiosis have its own distinguished status in legal studies. There is no maths in SLAT as well. It is in online mode.
  • BHU UET Law is a distinguished and renowned University and Asia s largest residential university. Excellent faculty, good campus and deccent infra. There are hindi speaking students and the university produce good judges and civil servants.
  • LSAT, Law School Entrance Test is a great option. There are law schools like OP Jindal Law School and others. There are two LSAT, one is for india and there is one for colleges in abroad. Colleges are expensive but meet the best standards. There is no current affairs section in the exam.
  • MHCET is for law colleges in Maharashtra. There are various good colleges under this. The current affairs section have more questions about Maharashtra.
  •  AILET is for NLU Delhi. It is a good option and you are actually competing with a huge crowd for just 60 seats. But nonetheless, it is the second best NLU in India. The entrance exam is difficult than the standards of CLAT, but the best of the crowd gets the seat in NLUD. Great college to be in, situated in Delhi, great students, great faculty.
